  • Expedition One Quick Release Hitch | Toyota FJ Cruiser (2007-2026)

    • Quick-release hitch — can be removed to restore ground clearance for off-road use
    • Tow rating matches OEM hitch: 3,500 lbs — suitable for trailers, cargo carriers, etc.
    • Mounts behind frame — uses only ~2.5–3″ of space behind frame for discreet install
    • Compatible with Expedition One bumpers and most aftermarket bumpers for FJ Cruiser
    • Reinforced steel construction for durability under load and stress
    • Bolt-on installation — no drilling or frame modification required

The Expedition One Quick Release Hitch for the Toyota FJ Cruiser is a clever hitch solution designed to combine towing capability with off-road readiness. It mounts behind the frame via the backside and bottom of the frame, using only about 2.5–3 inches of space, so you don’t permanently sacrifice ground clearance.

When you’re done towing or using a hitch accessory, the hitch can be quickly removed — restoring maximum ground clearance for rock-crawling or trail driving. This makes it an ideal choice if you want the flexibility of a hitch without the constant low-point exposure that standard fixed hitches create.

The hitch retains the same tow rating as the OEM receiver hitch for the FJ Cruiser: up to 3,500 lbs. The bolt-on mounting method doesn’t require drilling, making install straightforward and reversible if you want to return to stock.

Manufactured in the USA with form-fitting construction for the FJ Cruiser, the rack is designed to mount without drilling — attaching to factory mounting points. That means you retain structural integrity, avoid unnecessary modifications, and keep the installation reversible if needed.
