Installation
The 4Runner Center Console Box is designed as a direct-fit replacement for the factory 5th Gen 4Runner console. No cutting or drilling into the vehicle is required for basic installation — the box seats into the existing console cavity. If you plan to permanently anchor it, use the bottom mounting hardware to secure the box to the vehicle floor or console bracket. Total install time is typically 15 to 30 minutes.

Does this fit the 6th Gen 4Runner (2025+)?
No. This box is engineered specifically for the 5th Generation Toyota 4Runner produced from 2010 through 2024. The 6th Gen has a redesigned console and requires a different fitment. Contact us if you need help identifying the correct box for your vehicle.
Is the box uniquely keyed?
Yes. Every BOSS StrongBox 4Runner Center Console Box ships with its own unique key — no two boxes share the same key from the factory. Replacement keys are available through Boss.
Is it TSA or California DOJ firearm-storage compliant?
The box is constructed to law-enforcement-grade specifications with a high-security lock and double-layered lid. For jurisdiction-specific compliance (California DOJ-approved firearm safety devices, TSA travel, etc.), verify the current approved-device list for your state before relying on it for legal firearm transport.
Can I still use the original console cover?
In most cases the factory console lid/armrest is not compatible with the StrongBox because the StrongBox replaces the storage cavity itself. Refer to Boss's install photos or contact us for guidance on your specific model year.
