The Expedition One Mule SAM roof rack for the 2024+ Tacoma provides a strong, versatile platform for overlanding gear, cargo boxes, or rooftop tents — giving you serious load-carrying capability while keeping the design practical. It’s built with 3/16" formed aluminum side rails mated to proprietary extruded aluminum load bars, offering a balance of strength and weight suitable for heavy-duty use.
This rack comes standard with 3 load bars, but you have the option to add 3 more for a total of 6 bars — useful if you plan to carry heavier or more complex loads. It includes a front fairing for better aerodynamics and noise reduction, and its build makes it ready for mounting rooftop tents, awnings, or other expedition gear.
Installation is bolt-on and uses factory mounting points, meaning no drilling is required. The rails are finished with a textured black powder coat while load bars come standard anodized — giving a rugged, weather-resistant finish for long-term use.
Note: Light Bar not included.
Mounts using supplied hardware onto the Tacoma’s factory roof mounting points. Side rails are bolted first, followed by crossbars. No drilling needed. After mounting, ensure load bars are secured and torque bolts to spec. It’s recommended to check OEM roof load limits before loading heavy gear.
